Flax seeds are used as a tasty and valuable dietary supplement in the preparation of all kinds of cold dishes, any fruit and vegetable salads, cabbage, vinaigrettes and sauces. Flax seeds can be added to any ready-made cereals, to mashed potatoes, to ready-made first and second courses. It is very tasty and healthy to mix with cottage cheese and herbs, with sour cream and mayonnaise. Flax seeds can be consumed with milk, yogurt and kefir. It is useful to add flax seeds to flour products when baking, as a substitute for eggs or butter. The addition of flax seeds to these dishes does not change the technology of their preparation, but only improves the quality of these dishes and increases their nutritional value.
Ground flaxseeds can be used to make a delicious and healthy flaxseed jelly-like decoction. It is formed by boiling flaxseeds with a volume of at least a tablespoon in half a liter of water for 10-15 minutes. When a decoction of flaxseeds is prepared for 2-3 hours in a water bath (1 liter of water per 2 tablespoons of ground seeds), it is fatal to almost all fungi and helminths, except for roundworms. The addition of cloves to this decoction (3% of the total mass of flax seeds) makes the decoction also an excellent anti-ascarid agent.

Due to the unique natural properties of flax seeds, it is recommended to use:

  • with atherosclerosis;
  • for the prevention and auxiliary treatment of cardiovascular diseases;
  • to reduce the likelihood of blood clots; in diabetes mellitus (OMEGA-3 improves the action of insulin and protects the body from the onset and development of diabetes. This not only improves the perception of insulin, but also reduces the level of cholesterol in the blood);
  • with liver diseases to improve its functioning;
  • for prevention and in diseases of the thyroid gland;
  • with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • to lower blood pressure and maintain the human immune system;

Among the people, flax seeds are considered a universal remedy in the fight against almost all diseases.

How to use:

The use of flax seeds for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes:

  • For the treatment and prevention of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract as an enveloping and mild laxative: 2 tbsp. spoons of flax seeds pour 1 cup boiling water and let it brew for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drink a slimy infusion of 0.5 cups before meals.
  • For constipation, swollen flax seeds are taken orally 2-3 g per day, 3 teaspoons, washed down with water.
  • For the treatment and prevention of diseases of the heart and blood vessels, with oncological diseases of the breast and prostate: 2 tbsp. spoons of flax seeds pour 1 tbsp. boiling water, let it brew for 10 minutes. and taken orally.
  • For health and disease prevention, you can simply constantly eat whole flax seeds, add them to food (according to some sources, at least 5 grams per day), and for treatment - 50 grams. per day for one to several months (for example, there is evidence that the use of flax seeds in the amount of 50 grams per day for several weeks gave a positive result on the work of the heart muscle, the immune system and did not cause side effects).
  • Infusion of flax seeds: 2 tbsp. spoons of flax seeds diluted in one glass of boiling water and leave for 20 minutes. Use 100 - 150 ml. 2-3 times a day 0.5 hours before meals for coughing and as a laxative for constipation, especially in chronic colitis.

The use of flax seeds in cosmetology

The great seductress of all times and peoples, Cleopatra, assigned a special place to the flax seed in her famous cosmetic laboratory. In combination with various components, flax has a beneficial effect on any skin.

For those who love their skin:

  • A mask of flaxseeds for dry skin is recommended to be done 2 times a week: pour a handful of ground seeds with a small amount of hot water, leave for an hour. Lubricate the face with the resulting infusion for 30 minutes, then rinse with warm water, dry and apply a moisturizer to the skin. The mask smoothes the skin, makes it more oily, relieves irritation.
  • Another mask: pour two tablespoons of flax seeds with 2 cups of water and cook until a mushy state. The resulting mass in hot form (through a layer of gauze) apply on the face and neck for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, then rinse with cold. With dilated vessels, a cool mask is applied and washed off with cool water. The mask has a nourishing and smoothing effect, protects against wrinkles and folds. It is used for dry and thin skin and skin prone to rapid inflammation.
